Being around the rare landscape and beautiful geological formations, it really feels like we’ve traveled into space.

Egypt is best known for the ancient ruins like the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, the country is home to many beautiful natural landscapes, White desert is one of them.

Spectacular landscapes White dessert national park at Egypt, about 6 hours from Cairo or About 20km northeast of Farafra. The area displays sand of varying shades of white, from bright white to creamy white, along with chalk rock formations – some of which look like large mushrooms – carved out by the wind over the years.

A place with an amazing landscape and zero light pollution in any direction, the stars shine and streak across the sky at night.

Feel like traveled back in time to the stone Age again, went back millions of years. The White desert is formed by the ocean and the sea creatures that did exist 80 million years ago, which is a huge time ago.

Beautiful Sunrise

The area around the White Desert is full of interesting geological formations like the “crystal mountain,” the Black Desert, and the salt lake Marun.

The sandstorms erode calcium rock into natural sculptures

300-sq-km National park of the White desert about 20km northeast of Farafra is made up of calcium rock formations that have been shaped by hundreds of years of sandstorms in the Sahara Desert.

When the moon emerges, its brilliant light reflects off the rocky surfaces giving a blueish glow that illuminates

These carved formations are best seen at sunrise or sunset, when the sun illuminates them in orangey-pink, or under the full moon, which gives the landscape a creepy Arctic appearance

Make you feel like you’ve landed on the surface of the moon.

The full moon be the best time to see the White Desert. During this time, the chalk-white rocks reflect the bright moonlight, bringing the limestone shapes to life. From one moment to another, and depending on the viewing angle and light

In the remote past, the White Desert was a seabed, the sedimentary layers of rock formed by marine fauna when the ocean dried up.

Sunset view of White Desert

Magical morning sunrise with clear sky and pollution-free that worth every second.

The desert was recognized as a Natural Protectorate by the Egyptian government in 2002, and to keep the area as pristine as possible, human development in or near the desert has been banned.

Feel like walking on the surface of Mars.

The color of these formations changes as per the sun’s position in the day. During the afternoon, the white color of these boulders intensifies; at the time of sunset, it sparkles like gold and on cloudy days, it often appears dark and shrunken

An alien landscape of chalk-rock in the Egyptian desert

The combination of the white sand with the sunshine makes the White Desert such a unique place, besides being a very safe place where there are no dangerous animals.

Just an astonishing piece of land and history nearly had no idea it did exist

Formed by centuries of erosion and sandstorms, these unique calcium rock formations crop up across the landscape like great abstract statues, there are shapes of animals, chickens, mushrooms, faces, pyramids, and even the sphinx.

Mushroom and Chicken shape

Reaching the national park requires deflating the tires of a 4×4 Land Cruiser and dune bashing across the desert at dizzying angles.
